Photo-surrealist Lauren Zaknoun manipulates photographs to create stunning, and somewhat disturbing, creations. Her portraits have an enchanting and bewitchingly poetic quality to them. In her series, 100 Nights, the Massachusetts-based artist explores anxiety, absence, power, and escapism.
“Playing god is an integral facet of Lauren’s work, challenging the viewer’s conception of what is real and what is not,” claims her website. “A sense of humor and dark whimsy are trademarks of her work.”
Zaknoun shares her work on her social media accounts, and her Instagram page alone has already gained over 7.5k followers. She has also exhibited in cities like New York, Paris, Milan, and Boston.
