The post AI Reimagines “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy as Wes Anderson-Directed Movies appeared first on 5dwallpaper.com.
]]>Using artificial intelligence, Curious Refuge reimagined the Lord of the Rings trilogy as Wes Anderson-directed movies. This version, titled The Whimsical Fellowship, features some of Anderson’s signature visual style and camera work while employing several of his frequent collaborators in main roles.
Anderson’s Lord of the Rings film adaptations features a cast that includes Timothée Chalamet as Frodo, Bill Murray as Gandalf, Tilda Swinton as Galadriel, Edward Norton as Aragorn, Adrian Brody as Legolas, Jeff Goldblum as Elrond, Willem Dafoe as Smeagol and Owen Wilson as Sauron.
“From the quaint and idyllic Shire to the majestic and intricate architecture of Rivendell, “The Whimsical Fellowship” pays homage to both the beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy and Anderson’s iconic filmography,” said Curious Refuge about the project.
Check out the full trailer for The Whimsical Fellowship below and see how different Lord of the Rings movies might have turned out if Anderson had been behind the camera.

]]>The post Theaters Are Still Around, And Just As Magical As Ever appeared first on 5dwallpaper.com.
]]>Perhaps it was all because of COVID-19 that people feel that movie theaters are no longer existent. Yes, for a solid year they were virtually all shut down, and we all forgot what it was like to go to a movie. But once the pandemic started to die down, the theaters opened right up again. Those who missed the movies headed right back—and just because everyone else didn’t doesn’t mean the theaters are obsolete.
It should also be noted that movie theaters have upped their game. It used to be the case that you had to pay extra to get special reclining couch-like chairs made of leather—but now those comfy chairs are pretty much the norm, at least at AMC Theaters. The point is that while streaming services make it a lot more convenient to stay at home, there’s still the option to go out and see a movie if you so chose. And trust us when we say that it’s just as fun as it ever was.

]]>Steelberg’s Instagram page, followed by 40,000 people and counting, will take you straight back to the ’80s and ’90s when movie lovers couldn’t imagine their lives without VHS tapes. This creative designer mastered the art of creating retro-looking VHS covers, but you’ll notice two worlds collide when you look at them.
Even though Steelberg’s VHS covers look straight out of the ’80s, they’re actually inspired by modern-day movies and TV shows, such as Stranger Things, The Mandalorian, and WandaVision.
He usually focuses on the movies he thinks would look good as VHS tapes, but the inspiration sometimes strikes from the most unusual places.
“I’m a child of the ’80s, so it just seemed natural for me—the movies, the music, the TV, you name it… Everything inspires me. Mostly, though, it’s the group of underground artists that have been doing this ’80s nostalgia-driven art scene way before I came along,” Steelberg told Vehlinggo.

]]>Since starting his Instagram page @halawany.m, this artist attracted over 40,000 followers, and his golden portraits aren’t the only ones responsible for his success. He’s a versatile digital artist, art director, producer, and co-founder of 7pictures, and we’ve seen him explore many forms of digital illustration, but none of them compares to his “Gold Portrait” series, depicting beloved pop culture characters covered in gold.
His gold portraits became a true sensation thanks to their hyperrealist look and the fact they depict the characters we’re all familiar with. Cinema4d and Octane render are some of the tools that Halawany used to achieve this amazing effect and he truly struck gold with this creative endeavor.
He shared the full series on his Behance page, but only posted a few of the very best portraits on Instagram. You’ll especially enjoy his work if you’re a Disney, Marvel, or Star Wars fan, but he also shared portraits depicting characters outside of these franchises, such as Batman, Superman, Winnie-the-Pooh, and Homer Simpson.

]]>According to Zane, the idea was born back in April when he was brainstorming about creative things he and his little one could do during the lockdown. It all started when Matilda climbed atop an old plastic car and started surfing on it.
“I just happened to ignore all parental instincts of concern and instead recalled the iconic scene in Teen Wolf where Mike J. Fox surfs on top of Stiles’ van,” the dad confessed on Bored Panda.
They have already done over 70 recreations, and despite being only 5 years old, Matilda has done a great job posing for each scene, and we have to give a huge applaud to her dad as well, whose Photoshops skills are amazing.
To see their project, check out the gallery below. What a great idea to entertain your little one, right?

]]>Dave from Arrowhead Vintage & Goods specializes in upcycling thrift paintings and most of his work is inspired by the Star Wars franchise.
“I started making these designs because I owned a vintage store and had some really beautiful landscapes but I couldn’t sell for $5,” Dave told Digg. The artist explained how he was tempted to throw away all these paintings he owned for years, but eventually decided to give them another chance. That’s when he transformed a painting for the first time by adding an ATST and Ewoks fishing on the lake. And the result was amazing!
Finding old painting is not a problem these days, Dave claims, but breathing new life into them is a bit more tricky. Sometimes he needs several weeks just to study the painting and its style, in order to perfectly blend his characters into the scene.
Take a look at Dave’s unique paintings in the photos below.

Although this started as a creative exercise for the talented designer and illustrator, he quickly captured the attention of social media users, and the project now proudly stands among his most recognizable works.
“After doing a few entries the project took on a life of its own and I became excited about continuing to explore new ideas and reinterpret movies from my life that I have a deep affection for,” Stevens said about his project.
Steven also created a Kickstarter campaign to print these covers and received overwhelming support. He already surpassed the $30,000 goal with 831 backers pledging $57,055 to his project.

]]>Her project Pet Disneyfication turns people’s pet photos into Disney-style illustrations and they’re exactly how we’d expect them to look in the animated universe. The colors, facial features, and expressions are spot on and they look like they came straight from a Disney film.
The 22-year-old artist has been drawing since she was young, but didn’t consider it a career until the end of high school. She studied illustration and animation before quitting her program during her third year to give pet portrait work a try.
“Pet Disneyfication is something I did very sporadically in my free time for about 5 years,” Bredt told Bored Panda. “I started because I was and still am a big fan of both drawing animals and the old Disney style.”
She told Bored Panda that she’s not a Disney employee, just a huge fan with her favorite movies being The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, and The Artistocats.
Her project began when she was 16 on Reddit where she offered free art to people who sent pictures of their pets so she could practice her Disney style. It wasn’t until last summer that she started doing commission work and created an Instagram account. After her following grew, she started drawing shelter pets in the hopes of their portraits helping animals find their forever homes.
