There are many ways for pets to find viral fame these days, but movies still have the power to put them on the map. Some of summer’s biggest blockbusters featured adorable cats and dogs, and these three stole the show from their A-list co-stars and owners.

Frodo – A Quiet Place: Day One

Lupita Nyong’o’s fear of cats almost cost her the role in A Quiet Place: Day One, but she did everything in her power to overcome it. Her character in this film tried to survive the apocalypse alongside her cat Frodo, while the Oscar winner conquered her fear of felines and later decided to adopt a rescue cat of her own.

Dogpool – Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine featured more amazing cameos than we can count, and one of its most memorable guest stars was a British pup named Peggy. She was an Instagram sensation even before being cast as Dogpool, thanks to winning the competition for Britain’s ugliest dog last year.

Brisket – Twisters

Glen Powell’s dog Brisket was such a major part of the promo tour for Twisters that we’ve expected to see him in this movie, but he never showed up on screen. Despite not being in the movie, Brisket brought the film’s cast closer together and took the world by storm once this blockbuster hit the theaters.
