The post Korean Artist Creates Amazing Anime Characters Based on Animals appeared first on 5dwallpaper.com.
]]>Nitro creates amazing anime characters that he shares on his Instagram profile that has close to 70k subscribers. His most recent series of works is based on domestic and wild animals, and he is very open about the source of his inspiration.
While creating a character, he tries to include as many distinctive features from a particular animal into his design. Whether it’s the chameleon’s colorful skin or bison’s long face, it is easy to figure out the species that the piece was based on. In case you can’t get it right away, Nitro makes sure to include a small photo of the animal so you can compare and get a cool insight into his creative process.
We can’t help but wonder how an anime with these characters would look like. Let’s hope someone starts working on it soon. Until then, let’s check Nitro’s works below.

]]>With a special focus on the animal kingdom, Mills’ illustrations feature anything from turtles to lemurs (Mills adores especially wombats, capybaras, and giant anteaters). Her work—bright, bold, and full of character—is made to appeal to children, introducing them to the natural world. Mills herself grew up in a small farming town in Western Australia, and was fascinated with animals early on.
“My work is a collection of tongue-in-cheek storytelling pieces, that generally feature a caricature of an animal,” she told Pretty Picture Club. “I’m now doing more creative illustration work for clients such as primary schools and local community events, and hope to expand more into children’s illustration and mural work.”
Selected clients also include Procreate, Australia Post, Crocodile Creek, and Perth Zoo. Her illustrations also feature in the Aussie Alphabet book, a book with “26 pretty silly pages of Australian animals doing people things”, Mills joked in a recent Instagram post.
Her silly, delightful animals will delight your inner child!

]]>The post The Tiny Embroidered Animals of Chloe Giordano appeared first on 5dwallpaper.com.
]]>Originally from Buckinghamshire, and currently based in York, Giordano took to sewing during the last year of her illustration degree at the University of the West of England.
“I studied Illustration at the University of the West of England, and for most of my degree I worked in pencil or oil paints and took a very formal approach to learning things,” she recalled in an interview with Textile Artist.
“When I began sewing during my last year this all went out the window and I began to learn mostly trial and error as I didn’t have a background in sewing or textiles.”
Since graduating in 2011, Giordano has continued to experiment with freehand embroidery, using sewing thread and hand-dyed fabrics to create her delicate pieces.
Working on unbleached calico that she dyes by hand and single strands of sewing thread (either cotton or polyester), her designs are first drawn onto the fabric with a vanishing fabric marker.
Her advice for other aspiring artists? “Don’t assume you can’t do something. I always had very prescriptive ideas of what I was capable of as an artist, but when I began working with textiles I realized it’s possible to teach yourself to do just about anything you’d like to try.”

]]>Growing up, she went through a difficult period including having rare health issues, but she found a way to face her difficulties by creating art.
“I’ve loved the depictions of animals in art and drew them almost exclusively. There’s a joy and universal appeal they have over people and for some of us, it’s easier to find representation in them,” the New England-based Key said to Bored Panda and added that opening her Instagram account was a brilliant idea because the response is more than great.
Currently, she has over 116,000 followers and receives tens of thousands of likes on each illustration. If you also want to step into her dreamy world, check out the gallery below.

]]>When she was a small baby, she, unfortunately, had an accident where she lost his front legs and had to have them amputated. Her name is Duck and now she has a loving and caring family.
According to her human dad Cody, it was love at first sight. Although it wasn’t easy for the kitty to learn how to balance, she waddled a lot, that’s the reason why she was named after a feathered animal. But as time flew by she got more use to it and now she is a playful little furrball, full of energy.
She is very, very friendly, however, she still has chosen a best friend, a Frenchie named Bimini. They are so in love, they like to play around the house, sleep together, and even clean each other. What a beautiful bond, right?
If you are an animal lover, you need to check out Duck’s Instagram profile. You will love her!

]]>Morris was rescued from a shelter when he was 9-months-old and as soon as Jennifer brought him home, Champy the horse fell in love with this lovely furball.
“Champy insisted on becoming his best buddy. Morris jumped up on his back and he happily took him for rides around the paddock. Now it’s become their morning ritual,” Jennifer wrote for Bored Panda.
As a cat who’d lived in a shelter for months, Morris was a bit distrustful and shy at first and it took him some time to get to know Champy. But only a week later these two bonded and became inseparable. Now Morris goes out first thing in the morning to see his friend—first they snuggle for a while and the cat jumps on Chumpy who takes him for a ride.
Check out this lovely duo in the photos below.

“He actually really loved the beach but we soon found out he didn’t love the wind. The faces he was making, we’d never seen anything like it before, so we were taking pictures and videos,” his owner told The Dodo.
Even though Pumpkin enjoyed exploring the beach, he wasn’t particularly fond of the wind and the faces he was making to show that were pretty hilarious. Pumpkin’s angry face very soon became a meme that took over the Internet and is now making people from all over the world smile.

]]>Based in Finland, Katariina Söderlund’s home and studio is based in the countryside. “I have a small and cozy home studio with a desk that I use for painting, another desk for my computer and a little couch for our dogs,” she shared with Flow Magazine. “Most of the time I stay by my painting desk, but when it comes to finalizing my work I switch to my computer.”
According to Katariina Söderlund, her work requires both solitude and creative companionship. “I work best if these two are balanced,” she notes. “I work from home, but my husband is also a creative entrepreneur and has his office right next to mine. I think it’s a pretty ideal situation; I like to have my space and quiet, but it’s also very important for me to have someone to bounce ideas off and take coffee breaks with.”
And when she isn’t working she can be found embroidering or running around with her binoculars and watching birds. The ideal lifestyle if you ask us. You can follow her ins and outs on Instagram.

]]>Amongst her sources of inspiration, she mentions icons like Henri Rousseau, David Hockney, Aleksandra Waliszewska, and Giorgio De Chirico. “But I don’t get influenced only by painters or artists,” she told Drawfolio. “I get inspiration from childhood memories, things that draw my attention during the day-to-day, or books I’ve recently read,” she further relayed. “The most important thing is to find a way to make these ideas real and make them your own.”
Born in Zaragoza in 1991, Bellido moved to Cuenca to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts and later moved to Madrid to study an Art Investigation Masters Degree, but like most of her contemporaries, the internet played a major role in her success. “I think the internet is key to show your work and access content everywhere,” she explained. “A negative aspect can be that your work is more easy to steal, but that’s a risk you take before playing the internet game. The most important thing is to keep working and using the internet in an adequate fashion.”
With collaborations with brands like Zara, Nike, Chanel, Bershka, Reebok, and Urban Outfitters, you’d want to take note.

According to the couple, this balancing hobby began with a toy chicken. After throwing around the toy for some time, Lavery decided to try and balance it on his pupper’s head – which turned out to work incredibly well.
According to Scott and Lavery, Harlso has “the flattest head.” “He can’t do any normal tricks, sit or anything. Balancing things on his head is the only thing he can do,” they note. “Its all a bit of fun, but if any of the readers want to suggest something, he’ll give anything a go,” they added.
