Silvious first started her unique practice by making teabag paintings but later also included a fashion element to it while looking to create large-scale works. This resulted in an impressive series of fashion items, “Dressed to a Tea.”
According to Silvious, these fashion creations are somewhat of an “antithesis to my miniature paintings” and represent a natural transition for her.
“It’s only natural that my art has always been inspired by fashion,” she explained in a recent chat with Colossal. “My maternal grandmother was a brilliant seamstress. I was only 20 years old when I migrated to the U.S. from the Philippines, and my very first job was at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.”
Silvious’ works have gained a lot of recognition, and she will present them at a series of exhibitions in the upcoming months. If you miss the opportunity to see them live, check out more on her website or by scrolling below.

]]>The London-based fashion blogger Eve-Lily describes herself as a “maximalist crazy cat lady”, and her social media channels experienced quite a boom in recent years. Her unique style drew over 500,000 followers to her TikTok and 300,000 more to her Instagram page.
Eve-Lily is no stranger to wearing expensive designer clothes – after all, her social media channels experienced a boom after she shared clips wearing Gucci and Prada in early 2021. Despite her love for these luxury fashion houses, she often frequents thrift stores, looking for second-hand clothes that perfectly fit into her wardrobe.
Eve-Lily is a huge believer that money can’t buy style, and she claims she started her social media journey with “a 90% thrifted 0% designer wardrobe.” She started collecting unique high-end pieces and used them to elevate her maximalist style, and she still stays devoted to thrift stores.
Eve-Lily’s content is pretty versatile, but her “High End vs Thrifted” clips are among her biggest hits, and they prove that you can shop at thrift stores and still look amazing.

]]>Instead of asking people to feel sorry for her, Ania doesn’t focus at all on the fact that she’s deaf. She places emphasis on her fashion ideas, and the modeling she does for favorite clothing brands looking to promote their products.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about Ania’s fashion inclination is that she has a distinct style. Anyone can say they know fashion and just throw on the latest popular clothing trend. But Ania has a very specific idea about what she likes—”earthly tones”, as she puts in her Instagram bio—and this just heightens her credibility and makes her seem more authentic. As they say, less is more.

]]>Chiou, who is the head of Roommate Studio, uses the world of anime and video games as the main source of inspiration for his custom sneakers. So far, he has showcased sneakers based on various Pokemon, the Dragon Ball Z character Vegeta, the anime Sailor Moon, and Nintendo’s classic game Super Mario Bros.
When creating his one-of-a-kind sneakers, Chiou stays true to the color scheme of the source material while also including as much detail as possible. For example, his Nike Dunk Lows Vegeta Custom combines Vegeta’s signature blue color, and yellow details to represent his Super Saiyan transformation, as well as the Saiyan armor pattern on Nike Swooshes.
At the moment, many of Chiou’s works are just concepts and ideas that the designer wanted to share with his followers on social media. However, if they keep on getting this level of attention, which includes inquiries about purchasing some of his kicks, there is no doubt that Chiou could turn more of his works into reality.

]]>Selkie borrows its name from mythical ocean creatures, who live inside a seal skin. They can turn into humans by shedding their skin, but this is a double-edged sword. If a man steals her skin, the selkie is forced to become his wife, but she can transform into her true self and return to the sea once she finds her skin again.
This story resonated with Selkie founder Kimberley Gordon, who saw this company as the second chapter in her career after having to say goodbye to her first fashion brand Wildfox.
“I thought, there have to be so many women out there who want to find themselves, or are looking for themselves again, and maybe this company can be a representation of my age group, who are looking for joy later on,” explains Gordon on Selkie’s official website.
One thing that Selkie is now best known for is its inclusivity. It was important for Gordon to lift up the plus-size community by offering clothes for different body types, ranging in size between XXS and 5X, and making women feel good in their own bodies, no matter the size.

]]>Fukuda was born in São Paulo, Brazil and life took her to many different places before she found her true calling. She’s currently based in Leipzig, Germany, but she actually discovered her love for paper art during her time in Portugal.
“In Lisbon, she found in jewelry the perfect path to combine her passion for manual work with the subtlety of Oriental aesthetics present in all her pieces. Paper revealed itself as the main material and the artist explores in a unique direction its lightness and volume through different techniques,” reads Fukuda’s Etsy page.
Before turning to making paper art jewelry and filming her own course for Domestica, Fukuda graduated in public relations and spent ten years working in cinema and television.
She wanted her jewelry to break away from the common practice of using metal, and showcase paper as a truly precious material. Her creations are delicate and eco-friendly, and they’ll win you over with a delicate splash of colors.

]]>Tsurutaka uses traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques to make her one-of-a-kind jewelry, and it all started when she was just 19. She was still a college student at the time, but jewelry-making allowed her to explore her creative side and celebrate her heritage.
She eventually started her own brand Black Barc Jewelry, and their official website states they’re dedicated to making everything by hand using old-time techniques, guided by the belief that making each piece by hand makes them special and unique.
Since embarking on this journey, Tsurutaka crafted many jewelry collections, exploring different subjects. Nature has always been her main driving force, so we’ve seen her create jewelry shaped like snakes, flowers, and skulls before settling on insects.
Tsurutaka’s has been thinking about making insect-shaped jewelry for years before finally launching her “Mushi” collection. Most of the pieces are shaped like her favorite insect—beetles—with wings that can open and close together, revealing colorful gems underneath.
