The second season of The White Lotus ended with a bang and gave us many viral tweets that gave the show a proper send-off. Many of them went back to discussing one thing we’ve been talking about all season long – Gen-Z character Portia and her messy wardrobe.

In Season 2, The White Lotus took us to a luxurious resort hotel in Sicily and introduce us to a group of new characters, including Portia, the young assistant to Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya, played by the Five Feet Apart star Haley Lu Richardson.

One thing that caught everyone’s eye about Portia was her questionable fashion choices, ranging from mismatched prints to crocheted pieces she was wearing in the middle of the summer. Her outfits had Fashion Twitter in shambles week after week, but it turned out there was a reason why she was dressing this way.

Emmy-winning costume designer Alex Bovaird explains that Portia’s outfit looks so over the place because “she’s young, she doesn’t really know who she is, and she’s trying on different ideas.” Portia is clearly lost and has no real direction in life, and her fashion choices did a great job reflecting them, but they also gave us some funny tweets along the way, especially in the season finale.
