Self-Taught Artist Couple Makes Impressive String Art

VistulArt is an art studio in Warshaw, Poland that focuses on creating impressive string art inspired by people, movies, paintings, and everyday objects. The studio was founded by Dagmara and Dariusz, a pair of self-taught avant-garde artists who are also a couple in private life.

The duo uses a special technique for their string art that they call “photorealistic and colorful string art.” According to Dagmara and Dariusz, this method is quite rare and has required them to develop their own design methods and tools.

Every piece they make requires the artists to put in a great amount of effort, as they use threads of different colors to form the image instead of just painting the threads. However, the final results are well worth the invested time.

“Every few hundred lines, there is a change of thread – we cut off the current spool and tie the end of the next thread in a different color/thickness,” the artists explain the process on their website. “This is how layers are formed, stacked one above the other.”

Besides creating string art for their own satisfaction, VistulArt also accepts commissions. You can find more of their works on Instagram or by scrolling down to check out our favorites.
