LEGO Announces Set Dedicated to Iconic Barad-dûr Tower from “The Lord of the Rings”

Toymaker LEGO and the fantasy franchise The Lord of the Rings have a long-standing relationship that brought us some amazing plastic brick sets inspired by the iconic LOTR books and movies. Now, brace yourself for another one because LEGO is releasing a set dedicated to the iconic Barad-dûr tower.

In the world of LOTR, Barad-dûr, known as the Dark Fortress, is villain Sauron’s lair in Mordor. It instilled a feeling of terror thanks to its surreal size and the Eye of Sauron that rested on top of it and searched across Middle-earth for the One Ring.

The LEGO version of Barad-dûr is the replica of the tower as seen in the Lord of the Rings movies. It consists of 5,471 pieces and stands at 32.5 inches once built. The set contains a number of intriguing Easter Eggs and eye-catching details that will amaze LOTR fans, including the ability to open and close the main gate, illuminated Eye, hidden compartment with Palantir stone, and many more. It also comes with 10 minifigures, including the Mouth of Sauron, Gollum, Frodo, and Sam.

Releasing as part of LEGO’s ICONS series, the The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr is already available for purchase in LEGO licensed stores and official website.
