Fascinating Animal Sculptures Made Out of Scrap Metal

Leah Jeffery is a young and talented artist from Hogansville, Georgia, who uses scrap metal to make fascinating animal sculptures. Combining old bike parts, screws, and metal bars, Jeffery manages to recreate birds, rabbits, turtles, and all sorts of other creatures.

Detailing her artistic journey in a bio posted on her website, Jeffrey reveals that she first encountered metalworking when she signed up for a welding class in her senior year in high school. She loved the experience so much that she finished her class project quickly and had time left to work on other things.

Inspired by a scrap metal artist she spotted on social media, Jeffrey decided she could try and make metal art as well. Her first attempt at this, a Great Horned Owl sculpture, was a resounding success, and she decided this was the creative outlet she wanted to follow.

“Now combining my love of both art and welding, I explore creating different birds and animals from reclaimed metal,“ she explained on her website.

Leah Jeffery now runs a successful studio, Bruised Reed Studio, through which she creates and sells all sorts of impressive animal sculptures. She also showcases the majority of her works on Instagram, where she has more than 50K followers. Check out more of her works below.
