Big Branzino is a Floating Sauna That You Can Use to Sail

Ever thought about sailing and soaking up stunning views while also getting steamed? On the off-chance that you did, Swedish studio Sandellsandberg Arkitekter designed a floating sauna that can make this a reality.

Their creation is called Big Branzino and represents an intriguing combination of a boat and sauna. It is mostly made out of wood with added steel components that provide stability to the structure.

At the center point of Big Branzino is a sauna cabin encompassed in glass, allowing for steam to be captured without having to compromise on the view. There is also a terrace on the cabin, which provides opportunities for outdoor diners, parties, and more.

The idea behind this floating sauna, designed by Thomas Sandell and Johan Strandlund, is to experience the “magical nature” of the Stockholm archipelago. The creative duo had the vision to allow interested parties to sail around the archipelago, experience its bays and island, and get some relaxing sauna treatment as a bonus. Not a bad idea if you ask us.

Of course, this isn’t just a structure of wood, glass, and steel that is floating on water. It has all the technology of a modern boat, but the equipment is hidden by a “specially designed brass cylinder cover” in order to preserve the mystery.
