Artist Uses iPad to Create Elaborate Illustrations

Digital art has made incredible strides over the last few decades, and even more significantly in the last decade. Perhaps one of the biggest improvements in this medium is the advent of illustration with the use of an iPad, or any kind of tablet for that matter. Julia Hagen-Brenner is an artist who’s taken advantage of this new technology, making it her primary medium of creative expression.

As you can see, Hagen-Brenner creates vivid, colorful, and elaborate digital drawings. There’s a lot to unpack with the work she does, but the first thing we’ll note is her strong attention to detail. This demonstrates a true love for her work, which is something we can all certainly appreciate.

However, there’s another aspect to Hagen-Brenner’s creations that’s perhaps even more important: the message behind it all. You never get the feeling like her art was simply done “just because”. Each one of her creations seems to be sending some sort of message to the viewer, from an appreciation of the four seasons to a reimagining of a seaside town.
