Artist Paints in Oil What It’s Like to Live With Bad Eyesight

Nearly 2.5 billion people in the world have poor vision. That’s a huge number, and bad eyesight is a growing problem that most people just can’t seem to understand.

That’s something that this artist seems keen on straightening out.

Philip Barlow is an artist based in Cape Town who has created a series of oil paintings illustrating what life is like for people who are visually impaired, specifically how differently they see the world around them compared to how other people see it.

This is the very reason why, at first glance, Barlow’s works looks more like photos out of focus than actual paintings.

Look closely though, and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

If you are someone who suffers from poor eyesight, then you can surely relate to this. This is because these are the types of things that you see whenever you take off your glasses. Also, if you have someone who’s visually impaired in your life, you might want to start cutting them some slack and make sure that they get their vision corrected because the life of someone who’s visually impaired is no joke.
