Fruit carving is truly an underrated art form and Angel Boraliev is one of the artists responsible for putting it on the map. This food carver from Bulgaria became a true sensation thanks to his magnificent creations that have to be seen to be believed.
Before turning to fruit carving, Boraliev worked as a chef at a small restaurant but didn’t find his job fulfilling. He was working with the most awful boss that he ever had and turned to fruit carving while looking for a way to relax from his stressful job.
Boraliev discovered this new hobby had a calming effect on him and eased his nerves, and eventually decided to leave his job. Six months later, he became a food carving decorator at a prestigious hotel in Golden Sands, Bulgaria, and he hasn’t looked back ever since.
“Around 9 years ago, I have immersed myself in this endless art. I have participated in many projects and I’m always open to new ideas and collaborations… I carve fruits, vegetables, and soaps into real sculptures – from animals and flowers to different objects from everyday life,” the artist told Bored Panda.
