12-Year-Old Creates Adorable Bow Ties for Shelter Pets

Let’s face it. It’s not easy adopting a shelter pet.

Whether it’s a dog or a cat, adopting a pet who’s had his or her fair share of trauma throughout the years isn’t easy. Sure, they may already be house-trained, which takes away much of the trouble of having to raise a pet from birth, but most people would rather go through all of that trouble than adopt a pet cat or dog.

It probably also doesn’t help that most shelters don’t look all that presentable. With limited budget and manpower, most animal shelters are stretched thin.

12-year-old Darius Brown from New Jersey saw this as an opportunity to make use of his creative talents while also giving back to the world. By creating handmade stylish bows and donating them to shelters for use for cats and dogs, he hopes to help make the animals look more irresistible and adorable so that they can finally get adopted.
