Chef Loria Stern has made quite the name for herself. With almost 150k followers on Instagram, and features in publications like Vogue Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and Goop, her signature flower pressed shortbread cookies have taken the world by storm.
Her cookies are made by hand and are pressed with flowers and herbs seasonally available. Every cookie is different and pressed with individual botanicals, making the final product as unique as it is eye-popping. “On a busy week, we bake over 2,000 cookies,” said Stern in an interview with Voyage LA. “I’m most proud that I get to do what I love most for work– and that is feed people.”
Her journey to becoming the star chef she is today began in Ojai, CA where she was in charge of growing cherry tomatoes in her family’s garden and selling them at the end of our driveway. “Since those tender days, my journey has meandered from playing professional tennis to working in the fashion industry and then to finding my greatest expression in the culinary world,” she recalled.
Nowadays she’s hard at work, planning creative menus and cooking delicious meals for any occasion – from private events to meal deliveries to special occasion cakes. She also teaches cooking classes, dedicated to her flower pressed cookies, where she passes on her tips and tricks.
