These Tongue-in-Cheek Illustrations Call for Gender Awareness

Argentina-based illustrator, Germán Capisano, calls for awareness about gender stereotypes, with his sharp illustrations. His latest series is a crossover featuring two beloved anime franchises: Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon.

Capisano’s girlfriend, Candela Silberman, told Bored Panda that Capisano’s work leans on pop culture references taken from cartoons, Quentin Tarantino’s movies, the Star Wars franchise, and videogames.

“He is also writing an action comic and working on a book with his daily comic strips, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy,” Silberman shared.

With his latest work, Silberman explained that “he aims to create gender awareness and show that anybody can be cool, no matter their gender, sexual and clothing choices.”
