Teresa Lim’s Embroideries Are Great Fun

It took some trial and error for illustrator and embroiderer Teresa Lim to find her creative voice. “After graduating from junior college, I realized I didn’t actually like to study,” she admitted in an interview with Style Theory. “My notes were always filled with drawings on the side.”

It was only after graduating from LASALLE College of the Arts, where she studied Fashion Textile Design, that she found her true passion through embroidery. “I didn’t really know what to do, I just wanted to do something I love, which is either music or art-related,” she says. “That’s when I started exploring embroidery.”

Now her work is highly sought after, with collaborations with brands as big as Gucci and Swarovski. Her embroidery art has also been showcased throughout the world. “It’s a great thing to have a job that you enjoy, and I’m happy to have that,” she says. “I like being able to create new things every day. It’s what keeps me going.”

With more than 80k fans on Instagram, it’s clear that other people are equally happy to see her work. Join her growing fanbase:
