Teacher Draws Minimalistic Comics to Reduce Anxiety

Tim Raymond from Seoul, South Korea describes himself as a teacher who writes fiction in the mornings and makes comics in the evenings. He also suffers from anxiety, depression and “some other things” which he incorporates into his minimalistic comics.

“I’ve been making and posting comics about my mental health struggles for a few years now, but they have always been three-panel, text-post strips without visuals,” the teacher shared with Bored Panda. “I’ve just never been able to draw. A few months ago, however, I started drawing anyway, just pen on paper, and have since made daily comics about everything from indecisiveness to issues with body-image.”

In his work, Raymond also includes topics such as perfectionism, insomnia, paranoia, and much more. He shares his creations on his Instagram account called I Am Sitting, where he has attracted over 33 thousand followers.

“I post a lot on Instagram and people have really responded,” he added. “It’s been so nice. I’m filled with gratitude. I hope I can keep making things that resonate with people and that help them feel less alone.”
