]]>Describing her process as “nature meets scissors,” her tangible compositions are made by either following the natural shapes of the materials laid in front of her, or by carefully snipping some odds and ends, creating that seemingly perfect geometric shape.
“As far as how I find materials to experiment with, it varies a lot,” she explained in an interview with Colossal. “I generally work with what I can find around the house, inside or out. It begins as a scavenger hunt of sorts, and then a challenge as I begin to build.”
Finding “beauty in imperfection,” Meyer’s Instagram page is one you’ll definitely enjoy following. An oddly soothing experience in your otherwise hectic feed.

]]>The Japanese father of two is a great example of what happens when your parent is creative. Creating a surreal landscape, he adds hand-drawn illustrations to his children’s photos. The results are epic!
The photos depict the boys’ many adventures and transforms them into pop culture icons. Yota has been sharing the improved photos of his children on social media and people seem to love them. With what he has achieved and his level of creativity, he definitely deserves the award for greatest dad. Either that or a mug.

]]>These images of collapses are a part of Giordano’s photography series “In Extremis (Bodies with No Regret).” The shots are choreographed with excruciating details, from the position the victim is in and their clothes (or lack thereof) to the objects they are surrounded by and the people’s reactions around them (if any).
As we oftentimes can’t see the face of the victim, their surroundings showcase their inner world and explain the root of their downfall. Griordano has said that the shots tell us a bit about worn-out characters who embrace their collapse in an attempt to save themselves. Yet, they are unable to find retribution in self-destruction, since we are all damned by the “everyday representation of living,” by the oppression of “simply existing.”

]]>She decided to do a preventive double mastectomy with nipple spearing and reconstruction on March, 2019. Ten days later she went in for a check-up to find out she was now stage 1, triple negative, most aggressive breast cancer survivor.
Gomes considers herself very blessed as she found her disease very early. She has lost her grandmother and aunt to the horrible disease.
In her pictures, she captures moms going through breast, colon, and thyroid cancers. Her work is very inspiring, giving many women the hope and courage to overcome their illness.

]]>There’s nothing wrong with using photo manipulation software like Photoshop, but some artists simply prefer to go without it. John Dykstra is among them, but when you see his work, you’ll find it difficult to believe that this is all done without Photoshop.
For the time being, he’s using his parents’ garage as a studio. “Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford my own studio space until I had my feet on the ground, my parents lent me their garage space to use as my dedicated studio,” the artist says.
But look at the results!
