Every once in a while, we get a celebrity pet so adorable they become a star in their own right. Glen Powell’s rescue dog Brisket is a case in point, and he became a true internet sensation after joining him every step of the way during the Twisters press tour.
Brisket walked into Powell’s life while he was scrolling through Instagram while filming his latest box office hit. It was love at first sight, and Powell decided to take the weekend off filming to fly to Los Angeles and adopt Brisket from the Labelle Foundation.
It didn’t take long for Brisket to become an important fixture on the set of Twisters, and every member of the cast and crew immediately fell in love with him. He sat in Powell’s chair, bonded with his co-stars, and brought everyone on set closer together. Once it was time to promote the film, Brisket joined Powell during red carpet events, interviews, and photoshoots, becoming somewhat of a Twisters mascot.
Despite being an integral part behind the success of Twisters, Brisket doesn’t actually appear in the movie. His absence inspired many viral tweets, including “RELEASE THE BRISKET CUT” by X user @kelsospade and Matt Bellassai’s “The way [Glen Powell] brought this dog to every press event for Twisters… Imagine my surprise when little miss Brisket was not in the film for even one second.”
