Giulia Bernardelli Uses Spilled Coffee to Create Amazing Works of Art

Some of the most amazing things in life are just happy accidents and that happens to be the case with Giulia Bernardelli’s art. A spilled cup of coffee was all it took for her to embark on an amazing creative journey and start creating art that transforms coffee stains into something extraordinary.

Bernardelli attracted 110,000 followers to her Instagram page @bernulia, but none of that would’ve been possible if it wasn’t for one accidentally spilled cup of coffee over a canvas. Instead of cleaning it up right away, she saw there was magic in seeing her favorite beverage spilled over a white surface and decided to explore it further.

Bernardelli became one of Instagram’s most popular coffee artists, using everything from spoons to matchsticks instead of brushes. She finds inspiration everywhere around her, and her skills improved so much that she even tried recreating some of the Italian Renaissance masterpieces using coffee.

“I decided to replace the brush with what nature offers us, such as leaves, fruit skin, or simply food. I never plan my creations in advance, I just follow my instincts depending on what I’m doing. For example, when I drink coffee, I think about the nuances I could create if I spilled on the table,” Bernardelli told Huffington Post.
