Ginnie Hsu Illustrations Celebrate the Little Things in Life

Illustrator Ginnie Hsu took to art at a very young age. “I’ve been drawing since I was 5 and have been making things,” she recalled in an interview with Jackie O My Blog.

Originally from Taiwan (“a little tiny sweet island in Asia”) she moved to Texas for college. She holds a BA in visual communication and an MA in design and visual communication from the University of Texas at Arlington. Currently based in Starkville, Mississippi, Hsu works as an illustrator, gif animator, designer, and educator. “I live in Mississippi by a wildlife refuge where I teach, illustrate and design,” she said. “I love people, yoga, the farmer’s market, cooking, making things, and travel.”

Inspired by nature, outdoors, museums, plants, and people she admits she doesn’t really have one artistic style, saying: “I don’t consider myself having an illustration style, but my friends say I have one, lol… So, I guess I do. I just keep drawing and trying out things I like to use and I don’t like.”
