Let me introduce to you to an exciting self-taught artist, Kate Mayes, a mother of two from the small town Torquay in Victoria, Australia.
She works mainly with acrylics and her colors of choice are blue, green, dusty pink, emerald green, peach, and violet. Her work captures both the evident and hidden beauty of the natural world through abstract botanical-inspired shapes, forms and motifs.
Besides her two cute girls, who inspire her every day, her biggest inspiration is the late artist Leonard French, whom she had the amazing opportunity to interview for a class project once. “After that, I knew that art and creativity were my strengths and what I wanted to pursue,” says Kate.
