Artist Believes That His Illustrations Will Motivate People to Wear Masks

It has been almost a year since the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed. And not long after, people from all around the world rapidly started using non-reusable face masks, some of them very incorrectly. That’s why artist Javier Perez decided to create a series of illustrations to raise more awareness on how to use them properly.

Wearing them on your chin or elbow, like it is some kind of accessory, are some of the ways people “try” to protect themselves from COVID-19. And it is all wrong!

Perez, also known as cintascotch on social media, describes himself as a graphic designer, audiovisual producer, and a partner of the digital agency Cafeína in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He explains that people need to understand that masks are crucial for protecting both themselves and others from the virus and that illustrations posted on social media are the best way to create more awareness on how to use face masks correctly.
