Croatia’s Rovinj, A True Gem of The Mediterranean

Croatia has been voted many times as one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with some of the best beaches and there’s a good reason for that. The water is so clear and turquoise, the sun is so pleasantly warm, and the food is so authentically delicious that you might want to pinch yourself here and there to see if this is all real or you are just dreaming.

While Croatia is notoriously popular and very crowded, there are some hidden gems, little spots of paradise that you don’t want to miss if you want to experience a true Slavic welcome.

Up north, close to the Slovenian border lies the magical city of Rovinj. At first, you won’t be sure if you are in a fairytale, since Rovinj has all the elements. The old town, the fortress, the beach, the other side of the island, you name it, Rovinj has it.

Croatians like things in a certain way and they like their Rovinj like they’ve known it for decades. For example, they refuse to build new hotels, but you can find amazing cheap accommodation among the local population, who will make your visit especially worthwhile.
