There’s something truly adorable about Maltese dogs, and some of them are so paw-tastic that they even found viral fame on social media. Coco and Cici are a case in point, and they’re one of the cutest doggy duos that you’ll ever come across.
Before adopting Coco from a local breeder in Arizona, Coco’s owner Katee Lauchner had another Maltese dog for about 13 years. She was so devastated by the loss that she decided to welcome another Maltese into her life in 2017, and Cici followed a few months later.
“Coco is actually Cici’s aunt but we call them sisters in our home. Coco is super sweet, kind, and gentle. She’s almost human-like and she doesn’t care to play with her toys, she’d rather be sitting next to her humans getting belly rubs,” Lauchner told Bored Panda.
Lauchner later started documenting the duo’s antics on social media, attracting 300,000 followers on Instagram and 2.6 million more on TikTok—but what exactly is the secret of their success?
Most people discovered their social media pages thanks to Coco’s viral “Paws Up” trick. Lauchner often takes photos of Coco standing on her back legs and throwing her paws in the air, after her daughter taught her this trick and Coco kept on doing it without being asked.
