Brighten Up Your Day with Ayumi Takahashi’s Colorful Illustrations

How wonderful are these bright illustrations by Ayumi Takahashi? The Chinese born artist grew up in Japan and got her art degree at the Art Center College of Design in L.A. She currently juggles between New York and Tokyo.

“I usually paint with acrylic gouache on wood panels, yupo paper for my paintings, and make most of my illustrations digitally with Photoshop and Illustrator, and sometimes my ipad,” Takahashi said.

“With a deep attraction to ancient Chinese paintings and Japanese woodcut prints, also inspired by fashion design and contemporary art, I have developed a style that is graphic, flat, less about light and shadow or perspective, but bold on colors, shapes, and compositions.”
