Artist Makes Highly Detailed Insect Sculptures

French visual artist, Pierre Brault, is known for his fashion and decoration works as well as his intriguing art installations. This time, however, he decided to something completely different and launched a series of highly detailed insects sculptures.

The series, titled Entomology, was inspired by a newspaper article Brault read which showcased the effect of global warming on insects. Brault uses colorful Plexiglas panels for his creations, making sure the culptures reflect the look and shape of the real insects.

“I try to get closer to the graphic of the insect, while creating a supernatural part by breaking it down, to create an anamorphosis: the work is readable only from the front,” he explained.
