This Graphic Designer Gives Middle Ages Makeover to Modern Logos

Inspiration is a really unpredictable thing since it can hit you even if you are not looking for it. For example, graphic designer Ilya Stallone was exploring old castles when he got an idea to reimagine modern logos of popular brands in the style of the Middle Ages.

After following up on the idea and making various modern logos look like they could have easily been used in the medieval period, Stallone shared some of these intriguing works on social media. It turned out that social media users liked them very much, prompting the artist to start a series titled “Medieval Branding.”

“I’ve been designing, illustrating, and especially logo-making for a long time, and I realized that I can combine the work that I love and the atmosphere of the Middle Ages,” Stallone told My Modern Met in a recent chat.

So far, Stallone has turned back the clock and then some on logos of McDonald’s, Rolex, Tinder, Facebook, and more. In each of these works, Stallone employs various medieval elements like items, mythology, and outfit from the era but also keeps the basics of the design that make the logo recognizable.
