These Portraits Are a Little Bit Creepy

Seung-Pyo Hong is an illustrator and graphic designer who has already worked with numerous well-known clients including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar Chanel Toyota Diesel, Chevrolet and many more. The South Korean freelancer, who also runs his own art academy in Seoul, depicts quirky, surreal, kitsch, and cool images.

Inspired by everything and anything, Hong likes both traditional medium and digital painting, however, watercolor is still his favorite, although he rarely uses it since he is doing his projects on an iPad.

“It couldn’t be my work if I draw something exactly like photographs from magazines or someone. So I usually try to come up with a proper idea and layout first. After the rough sketch, I take photos by myself or look for some references about features and mix up them with my imaginary people,” the artist told in an interview for Ballpit.
