We’ve taken lately to Camilla Perkins’ vibrant illustrations. A clever mix of patterns, textiles, and colors, her art has amassed quite a fan-base, with 10,000 followers on Instagram alone.
The UK-based illustrator has been drawn to art and color from an early age. “I would say that I have always been creative,” she recalled in an interview with Cooler Magazine. “I can always remember writing and illustrating my own stories as a child, and being obsessed with color.”
“I love to draw objects that I find beautiful, so I use pattern to adorn clothing and interiors within my work,” she added. “I find it hard to know when to stop! I have always been attracted to bold colors, I can’t help myself, working in black and white would probably be the biggest challenge for me.”
Her art has a handmade feel to it, a sort of naivety that showcases her wonder with the world around her. “I always loved illustrations in books and I really liked the idea of working from a brief to create something unique,” she said.
