Taron Egerton is the New Wolverine in Viral Fan Art

The idea of seeing our favorite X-men characters joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe has long played in the minds of Marvel fans, especially after Disney acquired the rights to X-men following their acquisition of 21st Century Fox.

Now, one viral fan art is teasing the possibility of the Wolverine mantle being passed on from Hugh Jackman to Taron Egerton.

For those not in the know, Hugh Jackman is pretty much wolverine at this point. Although he lacks the stocky build that the rabid berserker is known for in the comics, Hugh Jackman has played the role masterfully in all of the times that Wolverine has appeared on the big screen.

With his retirement, however, fans feared who would be ready to take on the costume, and, as per BossLogic, it’s none other than Jackman’s Eddie the Eagle co-star, Taron Egerton, that’s set to inherit it.

Of course, this is just mere speculation. There’s no announcement made just yet, so take this image with a grain of salt.

Then again, we can’t help it if the image below gets you excited.
