Lizzie Campbell, aka Clay Disarray, is a UK artist who creates unique clay illustrations. Her works represent a combination of sculptures and paintings, often inspired by horror movies and other pop culture staples.

Campbell, who has a degree in illustration from the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, discovered polymer clay in 2012. Amazed by the possibilities that the material offers, she started using it for the majority of her creative work.

Nowadays, Campbell creates all sorts of intriguing polymer clay art out of her studio named Clay Disarray. This includes clay posters for movies, recreations of famous movie scenes in clay, and clay sculptures of pop culture characters.

According to Campbell, despite the simple look of her clay illustrations, she needs quite a lot of time to make them. Some bigger and more complicated work can take several days before being completed.

“It all depends on the amount of detail involved, body positioning, and whether I’m trying to capture a likeness,” she explains on her website. “Each model also goes through a number of baking procedures, so there’s always a deceptively long process going on behind the scenes.”

We browsed her Instagram and found hundreds of creatures, including bears, snakes, birds, fish, and many more.

“The process of making every creature and animal is very personal to me,” the artist was quoted by Brown Paper Bag, “it takes dozens of hours to complete the sculpture until it is exceptionally carefully hand-painted with a maximum of details and finished with a glossy varnish.”

Each piece takes her days but she enjoys every part of the process. And we get to enjoy the final result!

15-year-old miniature artist, who goes by the name “Clay Girl”, makes some of the most tasteful art with seen in a while. Proving she can make lemonade out of lemons, Clay Girl first began experimenting with polymer clay while going to occupational therapy in order to strengthen her muscles.

“They made me knead a type of putty to build strength in my hands,” she explained in an interview with The Daily Mini. “That was really boring, so I started making little ‘meals’ out of the putty. I’ve since left the putty behind. Hey, polymer clay keeps me toned!”

According to the young teen, the first miniature she made was shaped like a slice of watermelon. Nowadays, her unedible dishes are much more elaborate and include tacos and turkey sandwiches (there’s even a melted ice cream cone!) “I find making meat, like steaks, the most challenging,” says Clay Girl. “I just can’t seem to capture the texture. Maybe it’s because I’m a vegetarian.”

“I love making food the most,” she stresses. “I enjoy it because with each try I challenge myself to see how realistic I can make it.” Take a look at some of her incredible recreations in the gallery below:

In the hands of the right person, polymer clay can be used for amazing things. Take, for example, the miniature artworks of the Russian artist known simply as Tanya.

This talented young artist makes impressive miniatures using polymer clay, including all sorts of adorable figurines, fruit, and vegetables. The impressive thing about her work is that although she is doing small-scaled pieces, she pays great attention to detail.

In fact, if it weren’t for their size, you would hardly know the difference between Tanya’s creations and the real deal. Check out some of her best works in the gallery below.
