#bookworms #currentlyreading #oursharedshelfSo it only made sense to combine both her passion for reading and activism by starting her own book club. “I decided to start a Feminist book club, as I want to share what I’m learning and hear your thoughts too,” said Watson. “As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on. There is so much amazing stuff out there!”
“The plan is to select and read a book every two months, then discuss the work and related topics together,” explains Watson. “I will post some questions/quotes to get things started, but I would love for this to grow into an open discussion with and between you all. Whenever possible I hope to have the author, or another prominent voice on the subject, join the conversation.”
Her book club is an open and welcome platform, promoted on Goodreads as well as a dedicated Instagram page. To become a member, all you need to do is register for an account and join the group’s page. “Everyone is welcome. I would be honored!” assures Watson.

]]>Many times the magical world of the books swallowed us whole. We were so enthralled by its fabric, that we wished to journey through the ordinary days of the witches and wizards attending Hogwarts.
Luckily for our greedy fan base, Brussels-based artist Emily McGovern has created a hilarious comic that can feed our Harry Potter addiction. The My Life as a Background Slytherin comic imagines what was going on in the
Hogwarts while the books’ central trio, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, were off gallivanting to save the world.
The central character of the comic, Emily, is a “background Slytherin” who tries to help Draco fulfill his evil plans. The comic touches upon fan fiction favorites, such as the Harry-Draco shipping, Snape’s dramatic persona, and Dumbledore’s fabulous fashion sense and indubitable lunacy.
