Melbourne Mum Turns Healthy Foods into Tasty Pop Art

Parents often scold their kids for playing with their food but one cool mom from Melbourne does the exact opposite. Laleh Mohmedi not only encourages her son Jacob to find the fun in his food but also does so herself by making awesome pop culture-inspired food art.

It all started when Mohmedi made lion-shaped pancakes for Jacob. The boy loved it so much that she continued with this little experiment while also sharing some of her food creations on Facebook.

Her Facebook friends were naturally impressed with her food art and encouraged her to create an Instagram profile and share her works. Her food art quickly went viral and captured the attention of thousands of Instagram users.

“I don’t know how this thing I started doing in the kitchen with my son has turned into this. It blows my mind to this day,” Mohmedi told The Sydney Morning Herald.

The majority of her food art is inspired by characters from cartoons, movies, and TV shows. “Jacob decides who he wants to eat. He has lots of Disney books and picks characters from TV,” she added. “We bond over making food sculptures. Jacob is getting into it and he makes some crazy characters. It’s a chance to talk about ingredients and healthy eating.”

Mohmedi does not only make meals fun for Jacob with her creations but also uses them to encourage her son to eat healthy foods. The majority of her food art is comprised of healthy ingredients like vegetables and fruits.
