The grumpiest cat in the world, unfortunately, passed away last week at the age of 7. It was 2012 when Grumpy Cat first blessed our lives with her unique-looking face and even more unique posts on Instagram.
The viral sensation has over 2.7 million followers from all over the world. It’s safe to say that this cat was at one point one of the most popular animals on earth. It’s owner, Tabatha Bundesen, announced that Grumpy passed away due to complications from a urinary tract infection.
“She passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 14, at home in the arms of her mommy, Tabatha,” her owner announced the sad news on Instagram. “Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world — even when times were tough. Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere.”
