Hollie Fuller’s Illustrations Add a Playful Touch to Everyday Life

Hollie Fuller describes herself as an illustrator and maker. Based in Lincolnshire, UK, her playful approach to image-making is inspired by people and things and is often influenced by the mundanities of real life. Which makes the end result all the more relatable.

Like most artists, Fuller’s creativity sparked at an early age. “I’ve loved to draw for as long as I can remember, so it makes sense that I ended up falling into illustration,” she told Creative Review.

But it took her a while before she fully immersed herself in illustration, studying first fine art and photography and delving into a bit of everything before returning to her passion when she joined the Illustration course at Leeds Arts University.

Her choice proved right, and her illustrations soon make quite a splash. “I’d describe my style as playful, silly, positive and always rooted in character, she says. As for her inspiration, she adds: “I’m not influenced by one creative specifically. I find inspiration in various places, from galleries and museums to really mundane things like people waiting for a bus. I’m a big people watcher so that often feeds into my illustrations.”

Describing her dream project she says that any opportunity to draw lots of characters doing things would be perfect. Take a look at some of her quirky characters (going about, doing their thing) in the gallery below:
