Food Artist is Transforming Sushi into Edible High Fashion Pieces

Sushi comes in many shapes and forms, and just when you think that you’ve seen it all, another food artist emerges presenting the world with something even better. None of them compare to Yujia Hu, who makes sushi shaped like some of our favorite fashion items.

Hu was only 18 when his parents asked him to manage their sushi bar, and he came up with a creative way to promote it. He started sharing his creations on Instagram, and his edible artworks became a much bigger sensation than he ever expected them to be.

Hu mostly shares photos of sushi shaped like cult sneakers, which he calls “shoeshi”, but he only makes them by commission these days, since they can take a lot of time to make. Each piece of art brings its own set of challenges, but they’re definitely worth it.

Shoes may be Hu’s favorite, but he’s no stranger to creating sushi shaped like many other popular fashion items, including hoodies, slippers, handbags and more. He even crafts sushi inspired by famous paintings, actors and artists, which seems even more difficult to make.
