Embroidery is a popular hobby these days, but it wasn’t as popular several years ago when Emillie Ferris started practicing it. She did her best to stitch at least a few rows every day and now she’s incredibly skilled at making stitched butterflies and other insects.

The U.K.-based artist finds inspiration in old entomology illustrations. She carefully reviews each illustration before she starts replicating it with thread. Her art is “inspired by nature, with a tiny sense of magic,” as she tells This is Colossal.

Ferris has 165k followers on Instagram at the moment, and if you’d like her embroideries to make your feed prettier, don’t hesitate to follow her!
