Most people don’t see anything special in a plain metal wire. For Alison Ross, on the other hand, this material is just art waiting to happen.
This Greenville-based designer and artist uses wires to create cool sculptures inspired by wildlife. With the help of needle-nose pliers, she is able to twist the material into the desired shape and create metal squirrels, birds, fish and all sorts of other animals.
“My wire taxidermy pieces are ones of a kind, hand twisted, wire sculpture inspired by the beauty and quirkiness of nature,” Ross explains on her official website.
