Meg Lionel Murphy is an artist who “paints giantesses,” as we learn on her Instagram page. Her art is inspired by strong women who’ve suffered great pain but managed to turn it into their biggest strength.
“Over the past few years, I’ve compulsively painted heartbroken womxn that magically grow larger, stronger, and scarier than the world around them. As the paintings grow in number, I grow just a little larger, stronger, and scarier too,” Murphy’s website reads.
She never wants to reveal the identity of her subjects and the traumas they’ve been through. Instead, she paints the aftermath and the healing process that can help anyone going through a rough time to know that things can and will get better eventually.
