Artist Shows the Playful Side of Art We Often Forget About

The beauty of art is that it can be whatever you want it to be. We often think that art needs to convey some important message or translate into complicated emotions and feelings, but artists like Nick White are here to remind us that art should also be fun and playful.

White’s art can be described as silly and there’s nothing bad about that. He plays around with forms and materials, saying that “making people laugh brings [him] a lot of joy.”

Try not to feel happy while browsing through his art!

As well as moving house and other important day to day things, I have the following things coming up which I thought you would love to know about. I will have a stall and also be running a workshop at the always excellent @elcafest on Saturday 23rd June. You will find me singing some songs alongside many wonderful folk at ‘Murri’ as part of @thegoldenthreadproject @cecilsharphouse on 28th June. I will be talking about my work at the ‘Nuts and Bolts’ Illustration conference at Cambridge School of Art on the 28th July, as will a bunch of other great people. More info about all of these soon. #mostimportantlyiammovinghouseonthe15thifyoufancyhelpingtocarryaboxorholdthebaby #whatsnickuptoeh #putitinyourdiary
