Artist Creates Nature-Inspired Miniature Monsters Out of Polymer Clay

What does it take for something to be scary? How about cute? Do you think that something scary could be cute, and vice versa?

Probably. Probably not.

The thing is, when it comes to considering things as scary and not, it’s all a matter of perspective.

Things that are often described are monstrous or scary by people are often things in nature that people just don’t know much about because they’re not exposed to them. But, what happens if these creatures were presented in a way that made them look innocent, and even cute?

Artist Michelle Elaine Petersen uses a combination of polymer clay, acrylic paint, and other natural materials to create miniature fantasy monsters inspired by things in nature.

The result? Things that are supposed to be monstrous, but look cute and adorable at the same time.
