Artist Carves Sculptures That Are Only Visible Under a Microscope

French artist Marie Cohydon creates miniature sculptures which are visible only under a microscope. Cohydon’s artistic journey started about ten years ago and in her latest project she carved musical instruments from graphite.

“Graphite is a beautiful material that shines brightly when polished,” Cohydon shared on Bored Panda. “It is this silver luster that I strive to obtain with each of my pieces using tools which I designed myself. Friable and brittle matter, I never lose sight of the fact that I have to be very careful not to guillotine my sculptures with the scalpel or excess of zeal at any moment.”

She shares her work on her Instagram account called microsculpturefly. Scroll down and take a look.
