]]> Sometimes, art can be complex and it can be hard to understand what the artist is doing. With Stephan Brusche, there’s no second guessing – he turns bananas into works of art.

The former graphic designer from the Netherlands sees bananas as a blank canvas for “fruit doodles”. He draws on banana peels with toothpicks, a knife, a ballpoint pen – whatever he has on hand at the moment.

Two weeks ago my mom died after battling ALS for about a year. My mom was the most caring woman I knew and she had a huge positive impact on many lives. She will be sorely missed. . The Citroën 2CV was here preferred mode of transport and she had many when I was growing up. After getting my driver license she trusted me enough to lend it out to me. And I loved driving around in this wonderful machine. . Last Friday on the day of her funeral my brother @martijn_brusche rented a white 2CV for the trip from the church to the cemetery. It was a perfect move. The day after he took a picture of it in her remembrance (if you swipe left you can see the original). It inspired me to make this piece. Because it was something very associated with my mom but also the serenity of the empty 2CV made it a very fitting and bittersweet image of the loss of losing someone so dear. . . #2CV #Mom #ALS #iSteef #foodart
