We used the technique of layered paper cutting to give volume to the artworks and get a three-dimensional feel to them.”

Their birds are photographed in their natural environments, perched on a twig or soaring through the air. “The concept of this miniatures is to express the intricacy and vibrancy of the birds around us,” they say. “We used the technique of layered paper cutting to give volume to the artworks and get a three-dimensional feel to them.”

239/365, Number Two Hundred thirty nine from our 365 days of miniature art ~ Common Loon… . . SAVE NATURE SAVE WORLD . . The common loon or great northern diver (Gavia immer) is a large member of the loon, or diver, family of birds. Breeding adults have a plumage that includes a broad black head and neck with a greenish, purplish, or bluish sheen, blackish or blackish-grey upperparts, and pure white underparts except some black on the undertail coverts and vent. Non-breeding adults are brownish with a dark neck and head marked with dark grey-brown. Their upperparts are dark brownish-grey with an unclear pattern of squares on the shoulders, and the underparts, lower face, chin, and throat are whitish. The sexes look alike, though males are significantly larger and heavier than females. During the breeding season, they live on lakes and other waterways in Canada, the northern United States (including Alaska), as well as in southern parts of Greenland and Iceland. Small numbers breed on Svalbard and sporadically elsewhere in Arctic Eurasia. Common loons winter on both coasts of the US as far south as Mexico, and on the Atlantic coast of Europe. . . . #365dayschallenge #miniature #papercut #paperart #sculpture #paperbird #commonloon #ducks #ducksofinstagram #beautifulbird #blackbird #birdsculpture #MyEtsyFind #blackduck #artistofinstagram #birdsofinstagram #birdstagram #artistsoninstagram #drawing #dailydrawing #birdart #nvillustration #etsy #365feathersproject @natgeoindia @instagram @winsorandnewton @instagramforbusiness @excelblades @birds.nature.world @lgenpaper @natgeowild @etsy @strictlypaperart @boredpanda

255/365, Number Two Hundred fifty five from our 365 Days of miniature art ~ Hyacinth Macaw …. . . . SAVE NATURE SAVE WORLD . . . The hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus), or hyacinthine macaw, is a parrot native to central and eastern South America. With a length (from the top of its head to the tip of its long pointed tail) of about 100 cm (3.3 ft) it was longer than any other species of parrot. It was the largest macaw and the largest flying parrot species, though the flightless kakapo of New Zealand can outweigh it at up to 3.5 kg. While generally easily recognized, it could be confused with the smaller Lear's macaw. Habitat loss and the trapping of wild birds for the pet trade have taken a heavy toll on their population in the wild, so the species is classified as Vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List, and it is protected by its listing on Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). . . . #365dayschallenge #miniature #papercut #paperart #sculpture #paperbird #hyacinthmacaw #macaw #macawlover #bluemacaw #bluebird #macawsofinstagram #birdsculpture #MyEtsyFind #birding #artistofinstagram #birdsofinstagram #birdstagram #artistsoninstagram #artoftheday #dailydrawing #birdart #nvillustration #etsy #365feathersproject @instagram @winsorandnewton @instagramforbusiness @excelblades @birds.nature @lgenpaper @natgeo @etsy @strictlypaperart @boredpanda @fubiz @designboom
