]]> Many people hate to do laundry, and we don’t blame them. It can be a laborious task and one that takes up much of your time. But for artist Helga Stentzel, doing laundry is actually a joyful affair since it allows her to create her unique art.

Stentzel has earned internet fame in recent years thanks to her laundry installations. By carefully arranging pieces of clothing like socks, pants, and shirts, she manages to create optical illusions that resemble animals, smiley faces, musical instruments, and much more.

For example, one of her recent laundry installations included the creation of “Laundrosaurus.” Using a pair of white shorts, she made a dinosaur’s head, a pair of white tights formed legs, and a bunch of white socks formed the arms and the body. 

Stentzel creates various other playful installations, including arranging food in the shapes of animals, which she calls “household surrealism.” According to her, she loves “noticing playful similarities” in everyday things and using them to fuel her creative work. 

“I hope that my art will help people to connect with their inner child and rediscover the joy of savoring little visual delights in and outside their homes,” Stentzel explains on her website.
