]]> U.K.-based ceramist Helen Hodson fell in love with ceramic when she was looking for available evening classes. That was several years ago and her passion for it has since grown strong. She combines her love for ceramic with her other love – animals – and creates adorable pieces.

“I like nothing more than creating peculiar versions of my favorite animals,” Hodson writes on her website. “The majority of my week is spent at my day job working for a local wildlife conservation charity which I love. I do ceramics two days a week and any other spare time I can find!”

Not long now until all these will appear in my Etsy shop. There are multiples of some items, I just couldn’t get them all in shot! . I didn’t apply for any festive markets this year so this will be my only big sale of items this side of Christmas. I’ve tried to make a range of creatures for all budgets so I hope you find something you like 😊 . It's time for some news. It's of a personal nature but has big implications for my little ceramic business… —— In February I split up from my husband after 16 years together. The pain has been unreal & the crying monumental. I'm still grieving for the loss of my best friend but very slowly, day by day, I'm starting to feel like I can face the world again. —— I've moved back in with my parents, who happen to be in the middle of a house move. In fact, they are down-sizing from the family home of 26 years and so a loss of a different sort is about to happen. This means I'm having to pack up my studio which was set up in their garage. Thankfully there'll be space at their new house for me and all my pottery gear. —— As I'll be changing my name in the not too distant future, it seemed like a good time for a rebrand and this will coincide with the setting up of the new studio in June. Watch this space! —— The rug has well and truly been pulled from under me. Despite the chaotic state of my life right now, I'm trying to view things in a positive light and this being a fresh start on so many levels. As always, amazing friends, family & dogs are seeing me through – thank you all.

ONLINE SHOP UPDATE! . It turns out the people of Brighton & Hove weren’t prepared to part with their hard-earned cash during the artists open houses. I hope you guys are! I’ll be adding all unsold items to my Etsy shop tomorrow – Wednesday 29th May at 9pm (UK time). . There’ll be 25 items in total, including guinea pigs, a butter bean and plenty of animal vases! I’ll do a preview in my stories so you can see what’ll be included. . This is my last batch under the name Helen Hodson. On 1st June I’ll be switching to my new brand name. . Please be patient with me if you message or email. In exactly two weeks I move with my parents to their new home & I’ve just sold my own house. I’m feeling a bit wobbly 😕
