]]> Anton Gudim is a Moscow-based illustrator better known as gudim_public on Instagram. With his dark humor, the Russian artist has attracted an audience of over 742 thousand Instagram followers. He is an IT engineer by day, while drawing has been his main hobby for more than 5 years.

“I love coming up with ideas, turning them into illustrations and sharing the results with my audience,” the artist shared on Patreon. “My normal week is 5 days of A4 work at the office, making observations and taking notes in my spare time, and then drawing during evenings.”

Gudim dreams about becoming an independent full-time artist.

“I have recently started taking steps towards making my dream come true, as I’ve held the first exhibition of my works in Moscow,” he added. “At the moment I’m planning to take the exhibition on the road to other cities, both within Russia and abroad.”

]]> From Bratsk, Russia comes illustrator and digital artist Anton Semenov, whose images deserve close inspection. His painting style is very unique, where white, lifeless bodies, like worms, spread through the post-apocalyptic, post nuclear space, likely inspired by the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe. His technique is utterly flawless and beautiful, rich in detail and texture. 

His dark, macabre, and surreal articulate our inner nightmares. Semenov has a very unique style but you can sense the heritage of H.R. Giger’s alien paintings and sculptures, Philip K. Dick’s disturbing science fiction, and H.P. Lovecraft’s genetic horrors. 
 
Navigating between darkness and neutral tones, Semenov’s digital images lead the viewer to navigate along spooky corridors, inhabited by monstrous creatures and pallid over-sized children. His human characters, with their links to childhood and tales, remind us also of the work of illustrator Stefan Zsaitsits and filmmaker Tim Burton.
