]]>Most recently, we’ve taken note of Swedish fashion and print designer Louise Körner. Currently based in London, Körner’s designs include anything from sportswear to costume design to bridal dresses.
An award-winning designer, Körner has won The PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNER AWARD in Womenswear for exceptional designs as well as the SWEDISH FASHION TALENT of THE YEAR Award by The Swedish Fashion Council during Stockholm Fashion Week 2016. Her clothes were also featured in top-tier fashion magazines like Swedish ELLE and VOGUE Italia.
“Our target customer is a fashion-conscious female with high disposable income, aged 19-55 years,” she reflected in an interview with Fashion Angel.
“Works within the fashion, finance, media and the arts, socializes and travels regularly therefore demanding a constant need to renew her wardrobe. She would also ideally like comfort and individuality.”
A mix of high-quality solid fabrics with elegant details, Körner’s clothes can be spotted in music videos, fashion films, and on celebrities and fashion bloggers, and for good reason! If you’re a fan of practical minimalism, you’d want to check her out.

]]>Founded by Suzzan Atala, Tuza has maintained from the very beginning a made-to-order model in its workshop in the heart of Mexico City. As an outcome, they’ve been able to create jobs for raisins and support local suppliers, as well as provide fair pay to the jewelers, artisans, and craftsmen (& women!) of Mexico City.
Atala also sees the brand as part of the female empowerment movement by creating a community in Tuza Mexico City. Every season, her brand donates a portion of proceeds to female-led organisations dedicated to empowering women to lead in the fight against political, economic, environmental and health crisis across the world.
So now you can own a handmade piece that was both assembled by skilled jewelers and helped change the world, one day at a time. Sounds good to us! Take a look at some of Tuza’s collections in the gallery below and be sure to visit their website for more info:

]]>The post Alex Steele Treats Her Clothes As a Form of Art appeared first on 5dwallpaper.com.
]]>Known for her bold designs and a minimal aesthetic, Steele hopes to empower her clients and boost their confidence through her unique clothes. Her collection includes dungarees, dresses, shoes, and even pieces of jewelry, all unique.
But her journey to fashion was a long one. “I started out painting shirts with bleach as a fun craft that quickly grew into a production of painting designs in multiples,” she recalled in an interview with Rue Magazine. “I focused my background in fine art towards creating art that you can wear because it was important to me to make art a daily expression. I believe dressing yourself to feel like you are actually wearing a piece of art promotes confidence.”
From painting apparel, she expanded her wearable art into jewelry which incorporated her interest in sculpture. Working with bleach lead her also to experiment with the different outcomes of black dyes, which in turn inspired her to braid the fabric into bands for necklaces to achieve a textured look.
“Since I am making everything by hand, I remain close to my collection because each piece undoubtedly has its own unique variation,” she explains. “Also, because of all the different mediums I work with, I am able to go back and forth between materials and processes to break up some of the repetition.”
